Workshop Update:
I held my first workshop at my studio in SLC on May 13th and four amazing and talented photographers were in attendance. Each of them gave me a lot of good feedback which is leading me to make some changes to my upcoming working on June 10th. You can find out more info about my June lighting workshop here along with what the photographers who attended the May workshop have to say about their experience.

Meet Julia: As far as weather is concerned, it’s been a crazy couple of weeks here in Salt Lake City. One day it will be nice and warm with plenty of sunshine and the next it will be snowing (like today). Well, when I met Julia for her portfolio shoot it was just about to start pouring rain. We decided to wait it out and see if the rain would clear up and it didn’t… at least not for a while. At one point I thought I was going to get hit by lightening! Instead of postponing the shoot we decided to find a parking garage to shoot and I’m sure glad we did. The garage had some rad circles cut into the cement walls which I thought was perfect!
Julia is an aspiring model and this was her first photo shoot. She needed some fashion and swimsuit images for her portfolio… at 7:30 PM in 40 degree weather no less! She was a real trooper and she didn’t complain once even though I could sense that she was FREEZING! It probably took her two days to thaw out.
Join the conversation in the comments below and let her know what you think and wish her luck. She will be modeling at my upcoming workshop in June.
I’m trying to get caught up on posting past shoots so here are some images I shot during a stock shoot I did at a local airport this past fall.
My friend and fellow photographer Brooke Kinsey from Blush Photography helped me out on this shoot and I even made her jump in for a couple of quick shots. Thanks for helping out and being such a good sport Brooke!
Here is a shot with most of the crew from the shoot. Thanks everyone for bringing your A game!
It’s been a crazy year. We sold our house back in January and have been living with family for the past 10 months while we looked at over 400 houses trying to find the right one. We had 4 different offers that we submitted during the past 10 months and all of them were on short sales or foreclosures and all of them fell through. We finally closed on a house this past week and now we have a ton of remodeling to do before we move in. Our hope is to be in before Christmas… wish us luck!
On top of all that I have been shooting and working myself to death. I realized the other day that I have completely neglected my blog since July… who does that? Bad blogger, bad blogger!
Anyway, I have a ton of stuff to post. Here is a behind the scenes look at a stock shoot I did a few months back. If you are one of my facebook friends you have probably already seen this but I wanted link to it on my blog as well for all of my readers (all 4 of you… lol).
I want to thank each one of the models and stylists I worked with on the shoot, you guys are AWESOME! Thanks for picking up the video camera and capturing some footage to make this video possible.

I am so grateful for all of the amazing men and women who protect our freedoms each and every, without each of you this country would not be what it is today. It’s easy to take our independence for granted but next time you kneel down to pray, remember to thank our lord for these amazing soldiers and their families… The next time you see a soldier in the Airport or in the grocery store be sure to walk up to them and thank them for their sacrifice and teach your children to do the same.
Here is an image that I took on my trip to NY last summer. What an amazing place to visit. I heard a rumor that as of July 4th 2009 visitors to liberty island are once again allowed to climb the 354 steps to visit Lady Liberty’s crown.
While I was in San Diego last week I did a shoot with two AWESOME people… Louis and Casie… you guys rocked it! Thanks again for all the fun. Thanks to Christian and Dave for helping me set up this shoot. I can’t wait for my next shoot in So Cal, I’m dieing to go back soon.
