You’re going to love it Becca told me. But what if we get robbed on the street, I asked? Do I dare take my camera or is it going to attract unwanted attention? My chest started to tighten.

When I first found out that Becca and I would be going to New York I have to admit that I wasn’t excited. I’ve never really had the desire to visit the concrete jungle (as Jay Z and Alicia so affectionately named it) and the mere thought of it would give me a small anxiety attack. I much prefer the openness of the outdoors to the crowded streets of a big city.

When we finally arrived I was pleasantly surprised. It was nothing like I had imagined and I hate to admit it but Becca was right…

I’ve never waked so much in my life. Our feet took us miles each day as we explored the city into the wee hours of the morning. It was rare if we made it back to our hotel room before 1:00 AM. I definitely had more fun exploring after the sun went down… I love the city lights and the atmosphere of the city at night!

That was two and a half years ago. I was going through some old photo’s yesterday and came across the images from our trip (full posts here and here). So many memories. I MUST go back SOON!
